Fifth Workshop of the Project on “Promoting Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and Responsible Use of Media”
The fifth workshop of the project, “Promoting Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and Responsible Use of Media”, was held on the 16th September 2021 via Zoom. Mr. Kithsiri Amaratunga – Dean of the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities (FMSH) graced the inaugural occasion and delivered the welcome address. The inauguration was also witnessed by the project coordinators, the resource persons of the workshop, the staff of the Department of Social Sciences and the participants of the workshop.
This is the second workshop conducted in the theme of Nonviolent Communication and Media, especially in Tamil Language. Fifty (50) participants attended the workshop that comprised of university undergraduates, school teachers, school students and media personnel. Two (02) virtual sessions were conducted by the following resource persons:
Introduction to Nonviolent Communication – Ms. Ramanusha Poopalaratnem
Responsible Use of Media – Mr. Satheesh Mohanathas
The workshop was organized by the Department of Social Sciences in the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities and is supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with funding from the European Union.
