Sixth Workshop of the Project on “Promoting Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and Responsible Use of Media

The sixth workshop of the project, “Promoting Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and Responsible Use of Media”, was held on the 26th September 2021 via Zoom. Mr. Kithsiri Amaratunga – Dean of the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities (FMSH) graced the inaugural occasion and delivered the welcome address. The inauguration was also witnessed by the project coordinators, the resource persons of the workshop, the staff of the Department of Social Sciences and the participants of the workshop.

This is the last workshop in the series of workshops under the theme of Nonviolent Communication and Media conducted by the Department of Social Sciences in the Tamil medium. Thirty (30) participants consisting of school teachers, undergraduates, school students and media personnel attended the workshop. The workshop comprised of the following (02) virtual sessions:

  • Introduction to Nonviolent Communication – Ms. Ramanusha Poopalaratnem
  • Responsible Use of Media – Mr. Satheesh Mohanathas

The workshop was organized by the Department of Social Sciences in the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities and is supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with funding from the European Union.
