The seventh lecture of the Short Course on “Cultural Linkages towards an Asian Ideology” for the academic year 2023/24 was presented by Senior Lecturer, Mrs. Vasuki Jayasinghe. Her lecture, titled “Beyond Asian Ideology: through Lenses of Intercultural Communication” took place on December 12th 2023 from 1500 to 1640 via Zoom.
Mrs. Vasuki Jayasinghe, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Languages at the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University is currently pursuing her PhD in Peace Linguistics at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
She holds a Master of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, a Master of Arts in Conflict, Peace and Development Studies from Tribhuvan University in Nepal, and a Bachelor of Arts with honors from the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka.
The course is organized for the fourth consecutive year by the Department of Social Sciences, FMSH under a generous research grant awarded by the Eurasia Foundation (from Asia) in Japan. This course is scheduled to run from October 2023 to March 2024, catering to a select group of undergraduate students in intake 40, representing diverse faculties within KDU.
