Workshop on “Interpersonal Skills for Effective Relationship Building in the Corporate Sector” at KDU

The Department of Social Sciences at KDU successfully organized a workshop on September 9, 2024, for Intake 40 students. The workshop, titled “Interpersonal Skills for Effective Relationship Building in the Corporate Sector,” was conducted as part of the Public Relations and Professional Skills module under the Communication and Media Studies subject pillar.

This workshop led by Mr. Brayan Gunarathna, a certified psychological corporate trainer, coach, and consultant, the session provided students with practical insights into corporate environments. Mr. Gunarathna, accredited by City and Guilds UK and SGS, guided students through key aspects of building effective relationships, communication, and teamwork, which are essential skills in the corporate world.

The workshop was designed to be interactive, featuring practical exercises and activities that encouraged student participation. These exercises aimed to help students develop essential interpersonal skills, such as conflict resolution and professional communication, in a corporate context.

The event was organized by Ms. M.P.M. Waleboda, with the guidance of Dr. Tamara Jayasundera, Head of the Department of Social Sciences. It provided a valuable opportunity for students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, preparing them for future professional challenges.
