A Lecture on “Asian Legal Framework: Lessons from Sri Lankan Experience” by Mr. Mohan Peiris (Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in New York, USA)

The second lecture of the Short Course on “Cultural Linkages towards an Asian Ideology” was delivered by Mr. Mohan Peiris, PC on the “Asian Legal Framework: Lessons from Sri Lankan Experience” on 3rd November 2020 from 1500 to 1630 via Zoom.
Mr. Mohan Peiris, PC is a Former Chief Justice and an Attorney General of Sri Lanka. He has held posts at the Sri Lanka Law College, Faculty of Law of the University of Colombo, the Sri Lanka Bar Association (BASL) and as a member of the Sri Lankan Delegation to the Universal Periodic review at the 8th Session of the Human Rights Council of the United Nations. Mr. Peiris now serves as the Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in New York, in the United States of America.
The course is organised by the Department of Social Sciences, FMSH under a research grant awarded by the Eurasia Foundation (from Asia) in Japan and is held from 27th October 2020 to 10th of February 2021 for a selected group of undergraduates representing all Faculties of KDU.
