A Lecture on “Cultural Harmonization through Knowledge-Based Businesses in the Asian Region” by Ms. Chadika Yahampath

The fifth lecture of the Short Course on “Cultural Linkages towards an Asian Ideology” was delivered by Ms. Chadika Yahampath on “Cultural Harmonization through Knowledge-Based Businesses in the Asian Region” on 22nd December 2020 from 1500 to 1630 via Zoom. 

Ms. Chadika Yahampath is the present manager of the ICT Industry Skills Council, an entity formed by the government with a vision to make a workforce of 200,000 skilled in ICT by 2022, collaborating with the private sector.  She holds a BSc in Marketing Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Master’s in Business Studies, from the University of Colombo. She is a Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing and is currently researching for her doctoral degree on Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in the IT-BPM industry.

Ms. Yahampath is the former General Manager of the Federation of IT Industry Sri Lanka, Project Director of the National ICT Exhibition –Infotel and Sri Lanka Economy Coordinator for the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) and was the project manager of two ICT summits organized by the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance and the Asian Oceanion Computing Industry Organization. 

The course is organized by the Department of Social Sciences, FMSH under a research grant awarded by the Eurasia Foundation (from Asia) in Japan and is held from 27th October 2020 to 10th of February 2021 for a selected group of undergraduates representing all Faculties of KDU.
