Social Sciences students earned top awards at the General Convocation of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University 2022

The Department of Social Sciences of the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences, and Humanities was delighted to witness the all-round performances of its students at the KDU General Convocation held on November 10 and 11, 2022, at the BMICH

It is with great pleasure that the Department of Social Sciences announces that the most prestigious award of the convocation, the Sword of Honour for the Best All-Round Performance of Intake 35, was awarded to Social Sciences graduate Fg Off CL Udumullaarachchi by the Honorable Ranil Wickremesinghe, the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Further, she was awarded the General Denis Perera Trophy for the best student officer of Intake 35 in Military Studies. Moreover, the trophy for the best student officer from the Sri Lanka Air Force was awarded to Fg Off EWDH Egodawaththa, who is also from intake 35 of the BSc. Social Sciences degree programme.

Of the students who graduate from BSc. Social Sciences (intake 36), the following students have won the gold medals for the main subjects:

  • Gold medal for the Best performance in Management – KN Wijewickrama
  • Gold medal for the Best performance in Economics – RPCN Perera
  • Gold medal for the Best performance in Geography – AMTAS Goonewardene

 

Finally, the trophy for the best overall performance in academic studies in the social sciences for intake 36 was awarded to Ms. KN Wijewickrama.
