Students of the Department of Social Sciences from the 39th Intake visited MAS Holdings Intimates- Unichela in Panadura on the 26th of August 2022. The objective of this visit was for the students to receive an introduction and exposure to the field of management practices prior to their industrial training.
The visit provided an opportunity for the students to observe up close and personally the operations of one of Sri Lanka’s largest exporters and manufacturing plants.
The officials from MAS Unichela provided an overview of the management structure of the company as well as a guided tour of the factory. The department managers also took the time to provide the students with detailed explanations of each department’s work and production processes.
This unique opportunity provided to observe theories of management in a practical setting was of great value and has served to motivate students eager to enter the industry. The Department of Social Sciences is grateful to MAS Unichela for its generous support and accommodation.
