A Lecture on "Building an Asian Community: Political Issues and Challenges"by Mr. Nuwan Herath
The fourth lecture of the Short Course on “Cultural Linkages towards an Asian Ideology” was delivered by Mr. Nuwan Herath on“Building an Asian Community: Political Issues and Challenges” on 15th October 2021 from 1500 to 1635 via Zoom.
Mr. Nuwan Herath is the Head of the Department of Social Sciences of the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences. He is a senior academic in the field of Social Sciences with many years of experience teaching at university level.
Mr. Herath holds a Master of Arts in Peace Studies from the University of Notre Dame in the USA, a Master of Arts in Conflict Peace and Development Studies from the Tribhuvan University in Nepal and a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Resolution with a first class from the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka.
The course is organised for a second consecutive year by the Department of Social Sciences, FMSH under a grant awarded by the Eurasia Foundation (from Asia) in Japan. It is being held from October 2021 to February 2022 for a selected group of about 150 undergraduates representing all Faculties of KDU.
