The Fourteenth Lecture Of the Short Course on “Cultural Linkages towards an Asian Ideology” 2023/24

The 14th lecture of the Short Course on “Cultural Linkages towards an Asian Ideology” for the academic year 2023/24 was delivered by Dr. Hemantha Premarathne. His lecture, titled Institutions, Transaction Costs & Economic Performance in Asia took place on February 01st 2024 from 1500 to 1615 via Zoom. 

 

Dr. Hemantha Premarathne is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences of the Faculty of Management Social Sciences & Humanities of General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University. He holds a PhD in Development Economics from Saga University in Japan, a MA in Finance & Economic Policy from Saga University in Japan and a Bachelor’s degree specialized in Economics & Statistics from the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka.

The course is organized for the fourth consecutive year by the Department of Social Sciences, FMSH under a generous research grant awarded by the Eurasia Foundation (from Asia) in Japan. This course is scheduled to run from October 2023 to March 2024, catering to a select group of undergraduate students in intake 40, representing diverse faculties within KDU.
