A LECTURE ON “REGIONAL INTEGRATION AND ECONOMIC COORPERATION IN ASIA” BY SENIOR PROFESSOR ANOMA ABAYARATHNA

The second lecture of the Short Course on “Cultural Linkages towards an Asian Ideology” 2022/23 was delivered by Senior Professor Anoma Abayarathna on the ‘Regional Integration and Economic Coorperation In Asia’ on 18th October 2022 from 1500 to 1630 via Zoom. 

Professor Abayarathna, is a Senior Professor in Economics at the Department of Economics and Statistics of the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, with many years of experience in university level teaching and research both locally and internationally. She has held positions such as the Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Peradeniya, Visiting Professor at the University of Rouen in France, Visiting Professor at the University of Brasov in Romania, Visiting Professor at the South Asia University in India, and Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Essex in the UK and at the University Malaya in Malaysia. Professor Abayarathna holds a PhD and a MA from the University of Essex, UK, and an MPhil and a BA (honors) from the University of Peradeniya.

The course is organized for the 3rd consecutive year by the Department of Social Sciences, FMSH under a research grant awarded by the Eurasia Foundation (from Asia) in Japan and will be held from October 2022 to February 2023 for a selected group of undergraduates representing all Faculties of KDU.
