A LECTURE ON "INSGITUTIONS, TRANSACTION COSTS & ECONOMIC PERFORMANCE IN ASIA” BY DR. HEMANTHA PREMARATHNE

The seventh lecture of the Short Course on “Cultural Linkages towards an Asian Ideology – 2022/23” was delivered by Dr. Hemantha Premarathne on “Institutions, Transaction Costs & Economic Performance in Asia” on 20th December 2022 from 1500 to 1635 via Zoom.

Dr. Hemantha Premarathne is a senior lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences of the Faculty of Management Social Sciences & Humanities of General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University. He holds a PhD in Development Economics from Saga University in Japan, a MA in Finance & Economic Policy from Saga University in Japan and a Bachelor’s degree specialized in Economics & Statistics from the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka.

The course is organized for the 3rd consecutive year by the Department of Social Sciences, FMSH under a research grant awarded by the Eurasia Foundation (from Asia) in Japan and will be held from October 2022 to February 2023 for a selected group of undergraduates representing all Faculties of KDU.
