The Twelfth Lecture of the Short Course on “Cultural Linkages towards an Asian Ideology” 2023/24

The 12th lecture of the Short Course on “Cultural Linkages towards an Asian Ideology” for the academic year 2023/24 was delivered by Mr. Nanda Fernando. His lecture, titled The Role of Leadership in a Chosen Profession related to Asian Community took place on January 16th, 2024, from 1500 to 1640 at Mini Theater, Faculty of Medicine, KDU. 

Mr. Nanda Fernando boasts an impressive background, having served as the Former Managing Director of Sampath Bank PLC. He also holds directorial positions at Lanka Financial Services Bureau Ltd, Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka, and Lanka Bangla Finance Limited. As a Senior Fellow member of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka, he holds a Master of Business Administration specialized in Marketing. Furthermore, Mr. Fernando has chaired the Bankers’ Technical Advisory Committee under the purview of the Sri Lanka Banks’ Association.

The course is organized for the fourth consecutive year by the Department of Social Sciences, FMSH under a generous research grant awarded by the Eurasia Foundation (from Asia) in Japan. This course is scheduled to run from October 2023 to March 2024, catering to a select group of undergraduate students in intake 40, representing diverse faculties within KDU.
