The Faculty of Management, Social Sciences & Humanities (FMSH) at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) proudly concluded the Career Fair 2025 on the 22nd of April at the Faculty of Graduate Studies, KDU, Ratmalana. This event marked a significant step in strengthening the ties between academia and industry, creating valuable opportunities for both students and corporate partners.
The event commenced at 8:30 AM with the arrival and setup of company stalls, followed by two interactive phases of the Career Fair. Over 180 undergraduates from degree programs in Management and Technical Sciences, Logistics Management, Social Sciences, and Languages had the opportunity to meet with leading employers, submit their CVs, and explore internship and career opportunities. As part of their academic requirements, students are expected to complete a six-month internship, and this event served as a critical platform for them to connect with reputed organizations.
Several well-established companies and institutions participated in the Career Fair, including Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, Yokohama TWS Lanka Private Limited, John Keells Logistics, Pership, Verité Research, Ascent Business Solutions Pvt Ltd, Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC, MAS Holdings, Nestlé Lanka Limited, and Daraz Sri Lanka. Their presence and active engagement greatly enriched the experience for both students and faculty members.
The event was organized by Mr. Lahiru Gunathilake, Senior Lecturer and Career Guidance Advisor of FMSH, with the guidance and support of Dr. Kalpana Ambeypitiya, Director of Career Guidance at KDU.
