The launch of Megha 2: (In)visible lines of Creativity in Trilingual Expression

Celebrating the creativity of KDU students and staff, Megha 2: (In)visible lines of Creativity in Trilingual Expression, was launched on 19th July 2023 at the FDSS auditorium with Major General MP Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Vice Chancellor- KDU as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Vivimarie VanderPoorten, Senior Lecturer of the Dept. of Languages Studies- Open University of Sri Lanka, as the Guest of Honour.

Initiated during the Covid-19 pandemic by Mr. Kithsiri Amaratunga and members of Department of Languages, and ELC with the blessings of the Vice Chancellor, Megha has now become a continuing legacy of creativity in KDU. Megha 2 is a collection of creative pieces selected from the second trilingual creative writing competition organized by the English Literary Club (ELC) of KDU in collaboration with the Department of Languages, and it is the second publication under the title Megha. This anthology celebrates Sri Lanka’s multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-religious identity by promoting harmonious existence via literature.

Recognizing the talented writers of KDU, certificates were awarded to the winners of the trilingual creative writing competition, and the event was made colourful by poetry recitals and a drama performed by KDU students.

Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence & Admin), Brigadier Chinthaka Wickramasinghe, and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Sanath Dhammika, Deans and Directors, academic and non-academic staff, and students of KDU also enjoyed the literary evening.
