Passed G.C.E.(O/L) with a simple pass for English 

OR 

Passed Advanced Certificate Course in English offered by the Department of Languages-KDU;  

OR 

Completed junior secondary education with at least two years’ work experience in any field 

AND

Passed the placement test conducted by the DoL.  

(The purpose of placement test is to assist you to find the best course for your language improvements. You will be placed in a suitable group to ensure an effective teaching and learning process). 

The registration desk is open from 11.00 a.m.- 12.30 p.m. on 24th August 2024.

A non-refundable registration fee of LKR 1000 should be paid at the registration table.

Additionally, for the registration process, you are required to bring the originals and photocopies of the following documents: 

1. National Identity Card or Driving Licence or Birth Certificate
2. Certificates of relevant educational qualifications.
3. Payment proof of application fee.

• Physical lectures are conducted every scheduled day at the university premises with the option for you to participate online. 
• Requirement: 75% attendance for physical lectures is compulsory to be eligible for the final examination.  

• Foundation Skills: Strengthen your grasp of English grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. 
• Advanced English Language Skills: Prepare for higher education with advanced reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.
• Communication: Enhance your speaking and listening abilities for confident interactions in various settings. 
• Presentation Skills: Master the art of delivering compelling presentations and public speaking. 
• Advanced Writing Skills: Improve your proficiency in drafting emails, and other workplace documents.
• Confidence: Improve your confidence to use the language in different contexts.

Note for students enrolling in the Diploma Course: Payment option – You can enroll on the course by paying 75% of the course fee (Rs 50,000) and pay the rest of the 25% of the course before 31^st March 2025.
