A webinar on ‘Understanding Gender Equity and Equality’ was organized by the FMSH under the initiative of the Committee on Gender Equity of Equality (CGEE). This was a result of conducting informative sessions by each faculty of the university on Gender Equity and Equality in order to enhance the knowledge of the academic and non-academic staff of the Faculties on the said matter.

The resource person Ms. Krishanthi Anandawansa, a Senior Lecturer (II) attached to the department of Languages, undertook the responsibility of conducting the insightful 2-hour session. With her vast knowledge in the subject, it was emphasized that all genders are born with equal rights, that it is necessary to treat all genders in an equitable manner and that it is essential to avoid gender stereotyping.
