Sri Lanka Forum of University Economists (SLFUE) was established in February 2012 to enable closer cooperation, dialogue, research and academic enhancement among professionals in Economics. General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University has been an active member of the SLFUE since the inauguration was established.
The 46th meeting of the SLFUE was conducted at the Faculty of Graduate Studies Auditorium, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Ratmalana on 11th August 2023. The Vice chancellor of the university, Major General Milinda Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil (Ind) PGDM was invited to the forum as the Chief Guest. A special Address during the gathering was done by Prof. Dr. A.M.M Mustafa, Chair, Sri Lanka Forum of University Economists 2023, Professor in Business Economics, Department of Management, Faculty of Management and Commerce, SEUSL in addition to the Guest speech on “Sri Lanka’s domestic debt restructuring plan” by Prof. Sirimal Abeyrathne, the Chief Technical Advisor on Green Finance, UNDP, Sri Lanka and chairman of the Stakeholder Engagement Committee of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.The main highlight of the Forum was launching of the conference proceeding (hard copy)- 11th Sri Lanka Economic Research Conference 2022- Eastern University of Sri Lanka. The forum concluded finally with an undergraduate workshop done on Research Methodology by Prof. Dr. M.I.M Hilal, Professor in Marketing Management, South Eastern University of Sri Lanka.
The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. JMW Premaratne, Senior Lecturer -Department of Management and Finance and the anchor for the programme was Ms. D R Perera, Senior Lecturer -Department of Management and Finance.
