The virtual inauguration of the Alumni of Department of Management and Finance of the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities was successfully held on 11th November 2023 from 0900 to 1030 hrs. This milestone event marks the first step of establishing the alumni as a lifelong platform to reconnect, network, collaborate and share knowledge and experience with one another for mutual benefit for the past graduates and the future of the department.
Since intake 29, most graduates from the Department of Management and Finance have secured employment in locally and internationally reputed organizations. Some are working in upper and middle level managerial positions and will continue to move upward in those organizations. This has been a main reason behind the constant demand for the two-degree programmes; BSc in Logistics Management and BSc in Management and Technical Sciences offered by the department. The objective of this establishment is to network different organizations, facilitate employment and internship opportunities for undergraduates, identify and collaborate with industry-academic partnerships and contribute towards the strategic long-term growth of the department.
The event was participated by Ms. DD Lokuge, Head of the Department of Department of Management and Finance, Dr. AHS Sharic, Coordinator – Industry Collaboration, other staff members of the department and the distinguished alumni, past graduates of the department.
