The FMSH Comperers’ Circle conducted the third workshop of their workshop series on “script writing techniques for professional compering” on the 18th of March. It was hosted by a seasoned professional in the field, Ms. Aruni Arulanantham who is a well-known event host, newsreader, and teacher, and brought a wealth of experience to the session.
The workshop focused on essential aspects of professional compering, emphasizing the importance of crafting authentic scripts, conducting thorough research, and preparing extensively for events. Ms. Arulanantham highlighted how an effective compere should not merely read from a script but should engage the audience through a well-structured, insightful, and dynamic delivery.
One of the key takeaways from the session was the significance of creativity in compering. Ms. Arulanantham encouraged participants to develop a unique style, adapt to the event’s theme and audience, and bring a personal touch to their presentation. She also stressed the role of spontaneity, suggesting that a well-prepared compere should be able to handle unforeseen situations with grace and professionalism.
The FMSH Comperers’ Circle looks forward to organizing more such sessions under the guidance of the club founder and advisor Dr. Dhinesha Perera.
