Appointment of New Dean – FMSH
Mr. Kithsiri Amaratunga, Senior Lecturer (Grade I) of the Department of Languages, succeeded Dr. Namali Sirisoma as the Dean, Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities, and he assumed duties on the 14th of September 2020.
Mr. Amaratunga is one of the long-serving academic staff members of KDU, and he joined KDU as a Probationary Lecturer in 2001 and performed administrative functions as the Head of the Department of Languages from 2003 to 2020.
The faculty bade farewell to Dr. Sirisoma appreciating her valuable contribution as the Dean from 2017 to 2020. She is set to assume duties as the new Director of KDU Career Guidance Centre.
In addition, the FMSH is pleased to announce the other key appointments of the faculty, i.e. the assumption of duties by Mr. Nuwan Herath, Senior Lecturer (Grade II) on the same day as the new Head of the Department of Social Sciences, succeeding Dr. Hemantha Premarathne; and by Dr. Lakshika Liyanage as the Director at the Centre for Gender Equity and Equality.
The Faculty members congratulate the new appointees and wish them success in their respective administrative roles and in performing their duties to the betterment of the Faculty and KDU.
