ORIENTATION FOR INTAKE 36 FMSH STUDENTS

The Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities successfully completed a three-day orientation programme for its newly joined Cadets and Day Scholars of Intake 36 on the 6th, 7th and 8th of February 2019. The programme included a number of events and activities, such as, orientation to the faculty, separate departments of the faculty and the library; special lectures on the university culture, academic norms, examination by–laws and leadership, etc. In addition, the senior students of the faculty shared their learning experience with their newly joined junior colleagues, during the programme.

One of the main highlights of the programme was the Guest Lecture on ‘Motivation and Inspiration’ conducted by Mr. Deepal Lokugalappaththi, Deputy General Manager – Marketing & Operations, MAS Fabric Park Ltd. This was organized on the last day of the orientation programme with an aim to enlighten the fresh students as well as the academia and other senior students of the faculty, on the importance of being motivated, responsible, goal oriented and proactive. A special dancing and singing performance by the senior students added variety and colour to this event. Maj. Gen. IP Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence & Administration), graced this occasion as the chief guest; and at the end of this successful programme, Dr. Namali Sirisoma (Dean – FMSH) thanked the Vice Chancellor, heads of departments, resource persons, academic and non – academic members of KDU and the senior students, for their excellent support. She also thanked the Intake 36 students for their interaction and participation, and wished them good luck in their future academic endeavours.
