Inter-Faculty Squash Tournament 2022 of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University was held on the 28th April representing 9 faculties executing their top-most skills at the championship. Teams from the Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Allied Health Science, Faculty of Computing, Faculty of Technology and Faculty of Criminal Justice took part in the occasion.
The tournament was officially and ceremonially graced with the presence of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Defence and Administration) Brigadier W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, along with the Deans, HODs and other official representatives from the university. The final was held in the presence of the Chief Guest Major General ALDM Gunasekara RSP USP psc (Rector of the Metropolitan Campus Guarantee Ltd) on the 29th April, and the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities was victorious with 3 set wins to 1 against the Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies to emerge as champions of the Inter-Faculty Squash Tournament 2022.
The team of Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities displayed great sportsmanship and spirit throughout the tournament. The ‘Best Player’ of the tournament trophy was accomplished by the Lady Day-Scholar HKM Gunawardane (Intake 37). The Captain of the team was Officer Cadet BDTM Biyanwila (Intake 38) and Officer Cadets RMK Silva (Intake 38), KKSM Kumarasiri (Intake 39), UVB Rajapaksha (Intake 39) and Day-Scholar DN Bandulahewa (Intake 38) were among the rest of the team.
