The Department Industry Consultative Board (DICB) was held on 15th Feb 2024 at the Board Room of Faculty of Defence & Strategic Studies on hybrid mode.
The objective of the DICB meeting was to enrich and refine the existing curriculum of the BSc. in Logistics Management program by incorporating valuable input from industry resource personnel and industry experts.
The industry personnel from logistics industry included Ms. Tharika Gamage (JJ Mills (Pvt) Ltd.), Mr. Sankaja Dharmathilaka (JJ Mills (Pvt) Ltd.), Mr. Amayuru Komangoda (Triple Safety (Pvt) Ltd.), Mr. Dilanka Sanjaya, Mr. Kushan Gedarawatte (Save the Children Organization), Mrs. Hasini Gunasekara(Nestle), Mr. Salinda Samarakoon(Daraz), Mr. IG Perera, Mr. TK Hasantha, Mrs. Lakeetha, Mrs. Chapa Rafael(Slitt), Mr. Muhseen , Mr. Roshan Thewarapperuma, Mr. Upul & Mr. Dinesh from various sectors in logistics, supply chain and transportation.
They collaborated with KDU representatives, including Dr. Upali Rajapakse, Dr. Namali Sirisoma, Dr. Sabeen Sharic, Prof. Nadira Janadari, Dr. Kalpana Ambepitiya, Mrs. Dushanthi Lokuge, Mr. Lahiru Gunetilake, Mrs. Imendra Wathuhewa, Mrs. Piumi Lankeshwara, Dr. Dhinesha Perera, Mr. Anju Illangasekara & Mr. Arjuna Vishwanath. The fruitful discussions led to the identification of key industry inputs, allowing for the seamless integration of these insights into the curriculum, ultimately enhancing the program’s relevance and effectiveness for aspiring logistics graduates and professionals.
The welcome note was delivered by Head of Department Mrs. D.D. Lokuge followed by the presentation of curriculum by Dr. Upali Rajapaksa. This lead to the discussion with industry in a productive manner, concluding with the Vote of thanks by Mr. Arjuna Vishvanath.
