Hayleys Advantis, a leading end-to-end logistics solution provider in the South and Southeast Asian region, is renowned for its commitment to excellence and innovation. As part of their visionary 20 for 20 project series, they introduced InspirED—a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering the ambitious youth of Sri Lanka.
Through an interviewing process, InspirED handpicked a select cream of young undergraduates from different universities in Sri Lanka, recognizing their potential to shape the future of the industry. These young undergraduates were given a valuable industry exposure, diverse enhancement sessions, and site visits, all meticulously designed to nurture a personality for a successful transition into the professional world. Out of over 250 applicants, only 20 undergraduates from 10 universities were chosen to participate in this exclusive program. Our university, represented by Samadhi Wickramage and Mithila Porage of the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, proudly contributed to this esteemed cohort.
At the culmination of the program, participants were divided into four groups to tackle a challenging case study competition. Mithila was part of Team 03, alongside members from various universities, including Chiranjeewa Wickramanayake from SLTC, Kushan Kavindu from Ocean University, Nuzha Kitchilan from the University of Kelaniya, and Methma Weragoda from the University of Moratuwa. Samadhi joined forces with Abdulla Thahir from CINEC, Kusal Fernando from SLIT, and Managi Ayona from the University of Kelaniya in Team 04.
This competition aimed to select the best out of the 20 participants by evaluating their ability to address practical logistics-related scenarios and demonstrate their knowledge and skills relevant to the industry.
Judged by four esteemed industry experts, the case study competition provided participants with an opportunity to showcase their expertise and problem-solving abilities. It is with great excitement that we announce Samadhi’s team, Team 04, emerged victorious, showcasing their exceptional talents and teamwork.
InspirED is more than just a program; it serves as a gateway to bridge the gap between university graduates and the ever-evolving industry landscape.
