BSc in Logistics Management

This degree is offered in three streams namely, Transport, Supply Chain Management and Finance. The course is specially designed considering the students’ future requirements; it ensures competencies of military and non-military students’ fine-tuned knowledge and skills in Logistics Management to serve as future professionals, may it be military officer or civilians. Notably, the specially designed course entails core competencies in leading and managing the most important logistic issues in a critical war stage. while providing non-military students with skills in Logistics Management.

Aim

To develop a sound academic background for undergraduates to build confidence in resource utilization and interpersonal relations in a work place by incorporating different aspects of the logistics field.

Structure of the Programme

At the establishment phase of this degree, it was especially designed for military students. This degree paves the path for officer cadets to join executive branches as officers once they have completed their degree programme. At present, this degree is modified with separate modules for day scholars to groom their competencies to serve the industry as professionals in the field. The technical modules help them to improve working skills in technical aspects. The day scholars can gain management skills and focus on general management and operations management as per their wish to pursue their learning and career prospects.

Graduates are groomed to be compatible with local and foreign job market. The common areas of job specifications may be in human resources management, management consultancy, and start up enterprises, marketing, operations and technology management. Therefore, day scholars focus on a career based in the private sector and the public sector while the graduate officers continue their service in the Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Air force as commissioned officers in their respective executive branches.
