Stellar Victory for FMSH at the KDU Games 2024

The KDU Games 2024 was held on 07th & 08th of October 2024 at the Diyagama Mahinda Rajapakshe International Stadium. The KDU Games 2024 championship was awarded to General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, achieving a total of 171 points. The university’s athletes showcased exceptional performances, securing 19 gold medals, 15 silver medals, and 19 bronze medals. Faculty of Management, Social Sciences, and Humanities (FMSH) emerged as the best-performing faculty among other faculties, contributing a remarkable 118 points to the university’s overall score. The athletes from FMSH earned recognition for their outstanding achievements across various events.

Special Achievements in FMSH

Among the standout performances, Cadet Sergeant N.A.Y. Sewwandhi was awarded the prestigious ‘Best Female Athlete for Field Events’ trophy. Competing in the Triple Jump, she delivered an exceptional leap of 11.40 meters, earning an impressive 854 points under the IAAF scoring system.
