“Everyone has at least one talent.” But here in KDU, We have students with many talents. FMSH of General sir John Kotelawala Defense University sorted out some notable events for the Intake 42 freshers. Talent show of Faculty of Management, Social Sciences & Humanities Intake 42 held on 29th November, 2024 at the FDSS Auditorium. This was organized by the unity of the students of all the three departments of FMSH.
The stage was colorful with many innovative items that departed from the traditions. The event featured a variety of student performances, including singing, dancing, and drama. There were 20 groups from three departments, representing all degree programmes in the faculty.
Major General Chinthaka Wickramasinghe, USP USACGSC, Deputy Vice Chancellor – Defence and Administration, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Also the following personalities participated as guests in the event.

Dr. Lakshika Liyanage, our Dean of the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences, and Humanities all the other deans and directors, along with the Adjutant, Commanding Officer – Administration, and dedicated military officers.
Esteemed heads of departments:
- Dr. Upali Rajapaksha, Head of the Department of Management & Finance,
- Dr. Thilini Wijethunga, Head of the Department of Languages,
- Dr. Tamara Jayasundara, Head of the Department of Social Sciences.
Also the event coordinators, lecturers, senior lecturers & day scholars participated to this event.
There, they were able to meet many friends and build relationships through that opportunity. Also, this was a valuable opportunity for the students to show their talent on the stage.
At the end of the show, the Deputy Vice Chancellor praised the students for their hard work and creativity in preparing and performing their acts and encouraged them to continue their efforts. He also took the opportunity to congratulate the Faculty on the successful launch of the student talent show.
The event was well-received by the audience who expressed admiration for the student’s talent and creativity. The Talent Show of FMSH Intake 42 was a great success and has set the tone for future events.
