[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities (FMSH) conducted a Faculty Orientation Programme for its newly joined students of Intake 38 on the 11th January 2021 at the faculty premises. Over 100 Officer Cadets and Day Scholars enlisted to BSc. in Logistics Management, BSc. in Management and Technical Science; and BSc. in Social Sciences degree programmes participated in the event. The FMSH organized the orientation programme for Officer Cadets physically at the KDU while the programme for Day Scholars was conducted via online as an alternative to the traditional physical orientation, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the related health regulations.
The Dean of the Faculty, Mr. WAAK Amaratunga, welcomed the students and educated them on all the important information related to their academic life at the faculty. Further, the Director Career Guidance, Dr. RMNT Sirisoma, addressed the students on Building their Career and motivated them to climb to the top in future and to bring honor to the KDU. Moreover, Dr. LS Liyange, the Director Gender Equity and Equality emphasized the Culture of KDU and the methods of adjusting themselves to the University culture. The programme also included an orientation to the Department of Languages by the Head of the Department, Mrs. RMNP Rajapakse and Major JPWK Abeyawickrama as well. Further, the orientation to the library and to the Learning Management System of KDU by Center for IT Support & Development Services (CITS & DS) was included in the programme.
