A specialized workshop on voice modulation was held on January 17, 2025, at The Compere’s circle of FMSH organized the faculty of Management, Social Sciences, and Humanities, which wanted to draw professionals and enthusiasts keen to hone their vocal abilities. The goal of the event was to assist participants in developing their voice control and adjustment skills for a variety of applications, such as performance, broadcasting, and public speaking. The guest speaker was Ms. Hansika Godage, she is an alumni in KDU and former KDU Toastmaster. Numerous methods for improving vocal clarity, pitch, tone, and pace were covered in the workshop. The sessions also focused on understanding how voice modulation can influence the emotional impact of speech and help convey messages with greater power and persuasion.
Students took part in practical learning activities throughout the day, receiving specify to address their unique vocal difficulties and in accordance with various scenarios. The workshop’s interactive format made sure that participants had plenty of opportunity to practice and enhance their skills in addition to learning concepts and theories.
The workshop concluded with a Q&A session, where participants sought advice on overcoming specific voice-related issues in their professional environments. The letter of appreciation was presented to her amidst the enthusuastic compere circle members and EXCO. The event was organized by Dr. Dhinesha Perera the advisor and founder of FMSH Comperes’ Circle under the guidance of Dean FMSH Dr. Lakshika Liyanage.
Overall, the event was a valuable experience, equipping attendees with the tools to enhance their vocal expression and improve their communication abilities in various settings. The students representing all faculties were present at the workshop. The comperes’ circle was expanded from FMSH to all other faculties on the direction of the Vice Chancellor.
