FMSH Career Fair 2022

The Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities (FMSH) together with the Career Guidance Unit of KDU, successfully conducted its Career Fair for the Logistics Management, Management and Technical Sciences and Social Sciences undergraduate day scholars of intake 37 at the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) on the 07th of June, 2022. The Career Fair was conducted with the motive of assisting students in finding the ideal and best-suited internship placements within reputed organizations in the country that would ultimately guide them in their future career paths.

Thirty (30) representatives from leading local and international organizations attended the career fair, namely, Unilever Sri Lanka, Hayleys Advantis Limited, Pership House (ONE), InQube Global PVT Ltd, KPMG, Centre for Women’s Research, Verite Research, DIMO Lanka, Kelani Valley Plantations PLC, Shift X Media Pvt, Mas Aqua, Mas Intimates, Mas Bodyline, and Mas Group HR Representatives. The high turnout of industry representatives is a testament to the quality of undergraduates produced by the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities of KDU and their recognition within the industry.

The inaugural session took place at 0900 hours followed by face-to-face interviews where students were given the opportunity of meeting with and being interviewed by company representatives. As a result of the excellent comments from industry representatives, several of our students were offered job prospects at the event, while others were contacted for follow-up interviews at their individual company branches.

Under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty, Mr. Kithsiri Amaratunga, the event was organized by Eng. (Dr.) Namali Sirisoma (Director Career Guidance Unit), Dr. Kalpana Ambepitiya (Career Guidance Advisor), and Mrs. Kumuduni Weerasinghe (Internship Coordinator – Department of Social Sciences). The event came to a successful close at 1300 hours, having opened many opportunities and helped secure the future prospects of the students who participated.
